The sound is great, the LAN is fast (10/100/1000), and it will run up to 8GB of RAM.If you want to take a look at the technical specs and professional tests, I recommend overclockersclub.com and motherboards.org. This board is packed with features and for the price, you just can't beat it. I highly recommend investing in a good, single rail power supply. It's a great video chip for the average user, but if you want to play games that require more than 128MB of video memory, you will need to invest in a separate video card (or two if you want to take advantage of the Hybrid CrossFireX technology). You'd be surprised by how many mail-in rebates you can find on computer parts. I had an old 450W that I thought would be sufficient, but it didn't have a high enough amp rating to power the board.
I found a $20 rebate at the MSI rebate site that wasn't listed here at Ammy. It's fast, cool, quiet, very upgradable, and is supposed to overclock well, but I haven't bothered, yet. They can give you the run down on the many features of this board that I'm not currently taking advantage of, and don't have the equipment to test. I barebonesed it with just two sticks of RAM and a quad core CPU, and couldn't get it to post (switched it out with a CORSAIR 750w TX, and it booted right up). One of the reasons that I chose this board was because I was trying to avoid buying a graphics card, and the DKA790GX Platinum has an ATI Radeon HD 3300 chip built in. Google "MSI rebate" and see if one turns up.
